Sessions are facilitated by Jessie Holmes, a Canadian artist and educator with a B.F.A. from Emily Carr, an M.F.A. from OCAD University, and studies at the Städelschule, Frankfurt. Her work has been shown at Mörby gård Sculpture Park-Stockholm, Berlin Art Week-Berlin, the Basel Social Club-Basel and Hotel de Crillon-Paris. Jessie brings the same spirit of committed curiosity she applies to her own practice into every session at Hotel Adipose—creating a space that is low-pressure and genuinely imaginative.

Here is your first drawing prompt: You're leaving on a very long trip. Destination unknown. Duration unknown. Company unknown. Weather, anyone's guess. What are you bringing — and what are you bringing it in? Describe through drawing what this luggage or carrying device looks like. A sensible carry-on? a lone wallet? A hologram contraption that transcends toiletries and rare vintage couture across time and space? Draw your vessel. Any method.
Für mich ist das Hotel der perfekte Kurzurlaub , Kniebeugen für die Seele, Gemeinschaft auch für Drinnies. Ich liebe die Micro-Epics, quick draw noch mehr.

For me, this hotel is the perfect short break, a treat for the soul, and a place to connect even with indoor kids. I love the micro-epics, and quick draws even more.- March 30, 2026

As a sound artist and post-doctoral researcher, my days are spent deep in writing and audio work. Quick Draw has become a vital reset—a place to think differently and step outside my usual process. I didn't expect drawing to feed my other work the way it has, but it definitely carries through into my week. - April 10, 2026

I’m so excited about this! I was just telling my partner about it. It provides the perfect amount of structure for all the things I keep meaning to work into my art practice but don’t often get to. - May 4, 2026

I spend most of my days immersed in film—programming, curating—and somewhere along the way my drawing practice disappeared. Quick Draw brought it back. The prompts do all the heavy lifting—I just show up and draw. It gets me out of my head and back into making something with my hands.
